About the event
Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are in Boulder, Denver, and Fort Collins! Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.
For August in Boulder, we are very excited to welcome Jaz Cadoch to take us "Beyond the Hype: Critical Explorations of the Psychedelic Movement." Join us for an open and curious exploration of the contemporary psychedelic resurgence, often referred to as the 'psychedelic renaissance.' While this movement promises significant potential for medical, political, and cultural transformation, yet it also presents a series of ethical, ecological, and social challenges. Together, we will critically examine the current practices within the movement that may re-enact conventional systems and cycles of organizing.
This discussion invites your perspectives and experiences. What are the impacts of the current excitement around the 'psychedelic renaissance?' How can we address the ethical and practical considerations that arise as this movement grows? By exploring these questions collaboratively, we aim to uncover pathways toward fostering greater inclusivity, equity, and respect. Whether you're a seasoned participant in the psychedelic community or new to the conversation, this talk will provide valuable insights into the ethical and social dimensions of the modern psychedelic movement. Your voice and viewpoint are crucial as we navigate these complex and transformative times together.
